Woodside Special Care Centre also runs a Parent Support Group for parents of mentally handicapped children.
Parents meet on a quarterly basis and these groups are a time for parents to discuss issues pertaining to their children' needs, progress, problems they encounter; coping mechanisms etc. It is also a swapping of information.
Siblings and other family members are welcome to join the group.
The group is facilitated by a volunteer psychologist.
