Respite Care
 
Respite Care: "interval of rest or relief; delay permitted before discharge of obligation or suffering of penalty."

Woodside provides hourly, daily and monthly respite care to the families of children with mental disabilities.  In the event of a family going on holiday or in a crisis and need our services for longer than the period mentioned they can apply for 3 month respite care, after the 3 months have passed the presence of the child is regarded as an admission.

What services are offered during the respite care?

Exactly same as we provide to our residents which is:

  • Skills development (dressing; feeding; self help)
  • Social interaction
  • Play time
  • Water therapy
  • Outdoor play
  • Outdoor walks
